Winterlust
Winterlust exists because of a particular kind of disappointment — the grotto in the corner of a garden centre, the queue, the four minutes with a tired man in a rented beard, and the long drive home with a child who is being kind about it.
We think Christmas deserves better than that, and we think the way to get there is not more lights and more tinsel, but less. Fewer families in at once. More time in each room. Real craft rather than pre-made kits. A place that feels genuinely, quietly enchanted rather than loudly festive.
Mistlemere is the first thing we've built. It's a village hidden in ancient Kent woodland, reached by a journey that begins the story before you arrive. Inside, families make wreaths and decorate baubles, bake mince pies, follow a compass through the trees to find the North Pole, and — unhurried, in a small group, with the door closed — meet Father Christmas.
We are deliberately small. Every session is timed and capacity-limited, which means we sell fewer tickets than we could and everyone gets more than they expected. That's the trade we've chosen and we don't intend to change it.
Winterlust is an independent, family-founded business based in Kent. What happens in the woods this December is made by people who live near it, and who will be standing in it with you.
